We Are Inverurie Business Improvement District (BID) strongly opposes the decision to remove free parking at Burn Lane, a move we believe will have a profoundly negative impact on our thriving town centre (read full statement here).

Aberdeenshire Council Response(s) to submitted petition 29/01/2025
06/02/2025
Good morning
I refer to previous correspondence. The documents submitted have been initially checked and I note you have submitted a document showing business & community survey results, however these survey results do not appear to be a signed Petition stating the addresses of the signatories or an online or e-petition, as required.
For assistance, I attach the link to the Petition Guidance guidanceonpetitions.pdf. This also has a template petition at Appendix B, should this be required. A petition can be signed by any person however only signatures with an Aberdeenshire address will be taken into account when calculating whether the petition meets the minimum number of signatures. Aberdeenshire Council may accept e-petitions or petitions hosted by an online facility if they meet the criteria set out in the Petitions Guidance. Where the e-petition is managed by an external provider and the e-petition submitted to the Council does not contain the addresses of the signatories, a statement should be provided by the provider confirming that the minimum threshold numbers of signatories with Aberdeenshire addresses has been met. This should be provided at the same time the e-petition is submitted
I look forward to hearing from you so that this can be progressed and once we have the Petition it will be considered further. Please send your Petition and provide any response to this email to petitions@aberdeenshire.gov.uk.

Good afternoon
I refer to previous correspondence and having looked at the Petition and the documentation supplied I would be grateful if you could confirm whether you have consent from the signatories to share their data. This is being queried as the Petition website appears to advise that any results will be presented anonymously.
In order to progress matters however, we would suggest that as per the Guidance a statement could be provided from the provider, SurveyMonkey, confirming that the minimum threshold numbers of signatories with Aberdeenshire addresses has been met and also the dates of the survey. Alternatively you could obtain consent from the signatories to provide their details to Aberdeenshire Council.
